Our Goal

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control or screen magnification. We build the site toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What We Have Done

  • Large, readable text (18 pixels for body copy) with strong color contrast.
  • Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
  • Headings in a clear order, and descriptions on every meaningful image.
  • Buttons and links sized for easy tapping on phones and tablets.
  • Contact form fields with visible labels, and error messages written out in words, not shown by color alone.
  • Animations that turn off when your device asks for reduced motion.

What We Know Is Not Perfect

  • Our logo is a watercolor illustration. Its lettering is decorative, so the business name is also written out in text across the site.
  • Photos from classes show people and quilts; their descriptions describe the scene rather than naming each person.
  • Some pages are marked "Preview" and show sample information while real class details are added.
  • Tools from other companies that we may add later, such as a spam check on the contact form or a video player, may not fully meet the same standard. We choose tools with accessibility in mind.
