Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Wild Rose Quilting (Karen Jarrett) ("we," "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit this website or contact us through it.

Information You Give Us

When you send a message through our contact form, we collect what you type: your name, your email address, the topic you choose, the pattern or class you mention and your message. If you arrive at the form from a class or retreat page, the topic and pattern may be filled in for you, and you can change them before you send.

Please do not put sensitive details in your message, such as payment card numbers. We do not need them to answer your question.

Email Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. Your signup goes to an email newsletter service that keeps our mailing list and sends our emails. It will ask you to confirm your address first. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the list at any time.

Information Collected Automatically

Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard server logs when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request. It uses them to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies and Tools on This Site

Our own website does not set cookies. It keeps one small note in your browser's local storage when you close or use the newsletter sign-up box, so the box does not keep popping up. That note stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form. On the contact page, this Google tool loads the first time you touch the screen, click, move the pointer, use a mouse wheel or press a key. From then on it watches how you interact with the page and sends that information to Google, which scores how likely it is that you are a person and not a spam robot. It may set Google cookies. You will see its badge in the corner of the page. It is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We do not use analytics tools, advertising pixels, social media pixels, session recording or heatmap tools on this site. If we add one, we will update this policy and the date above.

How We Use Your Information

We use what you send us to reply to you, answer questions about classes and retreats, and plan classes with guilds, quilt shops and retreat hosts. We do not sell your information, and we only add you to our mailing list if you sign up for it yourself.

Who We Share It With

• Our web host, which keeps the server logs and runs a small program that checks the spam score before your message is sent.
• A form delivery service, which receives what you typed and passes it to our email inbox.
• Our email newsletter service, which keeps our mailing list and sends our emails.
• The providers of the tools described above, with the information those tools collect.
• Authorities, when the law requires it, such as a valid court order.

This site links to other websites, such as Karen's instructor profile on the Quiltworx website. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Your Choices

• See or correct your information. Email us and we will tell you what we have and fix anything that is wrong.
• Delete it. Email us and we will delete what you sent us, unless we need to keep it for a legal or business reason.
• Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies.

Children's Privacy

This site is meant for adults interested in quilting classes and retreats. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your messages as long as we need them to answer you, plan classes and keep basic business records. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS) between your browser and our server. No system is perfect, so we cannot promise complete security.

We may update this policy. The date above shows when it last changed.
